OPTIONAL DETAILS:
Need help finding the correct student microscope for your child in school? Let us assist. We have skilled microscopists on staff who understand the needs of students. Each sales team member is a degreed professional who has once been a student themselves. We have biologists and engineers on staff to evaluate your specific application and make a professional recommendation. We’ve provided thousands of microscopes over the years to students in elementary, junior high, high school, and college / university level classes. Our basic monocular student microscopes may be used for entry level biology and science coursework. We have higher grade binocular and trinocular models with better optics for high school and college level biology, microbiology, science, pre-medical, and clinical education.
Contact us today for a free professional evaluation of your application. You may pick up the phone and call our toll free number, email us directly at sales@studentmicroscopes.com, or send us an email via our form below. This form has been tailored to ask specific questions relating to your application. This form provides our trained microscopists what they need in order to make an informed, professional recommendation for student microscopy equipment.
Student Coursework Specific Information:
Are you viewing prepared microscope slides? Yes No
Are you planning on collecting and preparing your own specimens using blank microscope slides, cover slips, and maybe doing your own staining?
Do you need to view specimens larger than what would normally fit on a blank microscope slide, and fit under the glass cover slip? For example, would you be viewing coins, paper money, whole insects, flowers, tree bark, leaf venation? If the specimen is too large for a glass slide, then you may need a student version of a stereo microscope. However, most students are using a high power compound light microscope with compound objectives.
Do you have an idea of the required magnification? Most prepared slides are viewed at 40x, 100x, 400x, and sometimes 1000x. This is with the use of 10x eyepieces.
Does your coursework in science and biology require the use of oil immersion objectives? This would typically be the case to view biological specimens at 1000x and above. A tiny drop of immersion oil is dropped on the slide and comes in contact with the 100x oil immersion objective lens.
Do you need to digitally capture images of the specimen? Yes No
If so, do you need normal resolution or high resolution digital jpg microscopic images?
Do you need to display on a monitor (cctv or computer) a live motion video image?
